Second The Caring Kitchen Location is coming to ORANGEVALE!
We’re thrilled to announce that we’re opening a 2nd location!
We quickly outgrew our kitchen in Rancho Cordova and have been on the hunt for over a year for another location with a bigger kitchen.
The stars aligned for a location in Orangevale and we're stoked!
Here are the bullet points of info:
- We will be able to take cake orders again. As most of you know, I haven’t had the space in our current location to provide cakes. This new space is 3 times the size of the one in Rancho with a huge walk-in cooler that will give us plenty of room for cake orders and other custom orders.
- We will be able to provide more types of bread on a regular basis, such as focaccia and French bread.
- We will be able to provide more savory options. I really want to make things like take-and-bake lasagna. More to come on that later.
- We will have a monthly menu at both locations instead of a weekly one.
- And the biggest one of all...
6. This location will be free of the TOP 9 ALLERGENS!
I had been going back and forth about this for a while…I have Celiac and a son who can’t eat gluten or peanuts, and I often think how fortunate we are that neither one of us have an anaphylactic allergy. But there are many people who are not so fortunate, and I get calls every week from parents who say that their child has never eaten out anywhere because of how scared they are of cross contamination because it could literally kill them.
I want everyone (especially kids) to have a safe place to enjoy treats (and savory foods, which we will have more of at our new store).
For those of you that are unfamiliar with what the top 9 allergens are, they are:
- Wheat (gluten)
- Milk
- Eggs
- Tree Nuts
- Peanuts
- Soy
- Fish
- Shellfish
- Sesame
Our kitchen will be completely free of all these allergens, and employees will not be allowed to bring food to work that contains any of these ingredients.
I have always taken allergies very seriously, so now we’re just taking it up a notch. This is not a huge switch from what we make currently, the main difference is no nuts or soy (which most items don’t contain currently anyway). I will have to alter a few recipes, but it’ll be worth it in the long run.(Nothing is changing at our Rancho location. So calm down, peanut butter lovers ).
We will still be using coconut in some recipes since it is not considered to be a top 9 allergen. Most of our products are corn-free and oat-free. Any item that contains these 3 ingredients will be labeled in the case.
WHEN and WHERE?
Our new store will be located in Orangevale and we’ll be announcing the address in the next few weeks. We’re aiming to open in early June. Make sure to help us get the word out by sharing this with your friends and family who have food allergies.
Thank you for all of your support over the last 4 years I wouldn’t have gotten here without you.
Stay tuned for more info! Love you all!
